1. What we do

We move packed crates, remove junk, clean houses, and wash the outside of them.

We do all of that ourselves. The person who answers the phone is the person who turns up.

2. What we do not do

  • We are not a furniture removal company. We move crates. The couch, the fridge and the piano need a proper crew with a proper truck, and we will happily tell you who to call.
  • We are not electricians, plumbers or gasfitters. We will not carry out work that requires a licence we do not hold. If that is what you need, we will tell you and point you at somebody qualified.

3. Quotes and prices

Crate moves are a fixed price by crate count:

CratesPrice
25$290
30$320
45$360
60$400

You know the number before we start. It does not climb while you watch.

Everything else is quoted, because the price genuinely depends on what is there. A quote is based on what you have told us and what we can see.

If we turn up and the job is materially different from what was described — three times the junk, a house twice the size, a hedge that has become a tree — we will tell you before we start and give you a new price. You can accept it or send us away. We will not do the work and then surprise you with the bill.

Booking a service on this site is a request for a price, not a purchase. Nothing is charged until we have quoted it and you have said yes.

Prices include GST where applicable.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel free, up to 24 hours before

Cancel or move any booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the job is due to start. Just tell us — a call, a text, or a message through your account.

Inside 24 hours

If you cancel inside 24 hours, or nobody is there to let us in:

  • We may charge for the job
  • Any deposit is not refunded

That is not us being difficult. Inside a day we cannot fill the slot, the van is loaded, and the time is gone whether we work it or not.

If we cancel on you

If we cancel, or we cannot do the job for any reason on our end:

  • You pay nothing
  • We refund anything you have already paid for it

What this does NOT do

None of the above takes away your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

If we do a job badly, do not do it with reasonable care and skill, or do not do it in a reasonable time, you are entitled to a remedy — and that is true regardless of anything on this page. We cannot contract out of that, and we would not want to.

The cancellation charge above is about you calling off a job at short notice. It is not a “no refunds” policy, and it does not apply to work that was not done properly.

If something is wrong with what we did, tell us. We will fix it.

5. Paying

We invoice on completion unless we have agreed otherwise.

Payment is due before services is to be done.

6. Getting in

You need to make sure:

  • We can get to the property
  • It is safe for us to work there

Tell us when you book if there is:

  • A dog
  • A locked gate or a key safe
  • A shared or narrow driveway
  • Steep or difficult access
  • Anything else we would want to know before we turn up with a trailer

If we cannot get in and nobody told us, that is a late cancellation (section 4).

7. Junk removal

What we will not take

  • Asbestos
  • Chemicals and hazardous waste
  • Gas bottles
  • Paint in bulk
  • Anything requiring specialist disposal

If we find it, we will leave it and tell you who can take it.

Once it is gone, it is gone

Please check the pile before we load it. Once we have taken something away, we cannot get it back. We sort for recycling and re-use where we can, and things move quickly.

8. Your things

We take care of what we carry, but we are not an insurer.

  • We recommend you keep your own contents insurance in place over a move.
  • If we damage something through our own carelessness, we will put it right. That is the Consumer Guarantees Act, and it is also just what we would do.

Please do not pack cash, jewellery, passports, medication or anything irreplaceable into the crates. Carry those yourself.

9. Cleaning and house washing

  • We will tell you honestly what a clean can and cannot achieve. Some stains do not come out, and some paint is already failing before we get there.
  • We use a soft wash on exteriors where that is the right approach. A pressure washer held close enough to strip mould off weatherboards is also close enough to force water into a window seal — which creates a much more expensive problem than the one it solved. If a job genuinely needs high pressure, we will say so first.
  • If something is already broken, loose or rotten, washing it may reveal that. We will point it out rather than pretend we did not see it.

10. Your account

  • Keep your password to yourself.
  • Anything done through your account, we will treat as done by you.
  • Tell us immediately if you think somebody else has access to it.

11. If something goes wrong

Tell us.

You will be talking to the person who did the work, not to a call centre about a contractor. Most things get sorted the same day.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms.

The version that applies to your booking is the version that was live when you made it. We record which version you agreed to, and when.

13. The legal bit

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
